About Sonoran Paws

A community shelter built on compassion, transparency, and an unwavering commitment to no-kill animal welfare in the East Valley.

Our mission

Saving lives, building bonds, and strengthening our community

Sonoran Paws Animal Shelter was established to serve the pets and people of the East Valley with dignity and care. We opened our doors with a simple promise: no healthy or treatable animal would ever be euthanized in our facility.

That promise holds today. Our team of staff, volunteers, and fosters works every day to provide compassionate intake, quality veterinary care, behavioral enrichment, and thoughtful matching between animals and adopters. We believe the right home exists for every pet -- and we will keep searching until we find it.

What we stand for

Values that guide every decision we make

No-kill, always

We do not euthanize for space or time. Every animal receives individual care, enrichment, and every opportunity to find a home.

Every animal counts

From bottle-fed kittens to senior dogs, we advocate for every animal equally -- including those who need a little extra time or love.

Community roots

Sonoran Paws was founded by East Valley families for East Valley families. We are your neighbors, and these are your community's animals.

Transparent stewardship

As a registered 501(c)(3), every donation we receive is publicly accounted for and goes directly toward animal care, programs, and operations.
